Entrevista Heroes of Ruin

Entrevistamos a Tim Schwalk, productor de Heroes of Ruin, el hack'n slash con multijugador online que Square-Enix traerá a Nintendo 3DS.

Revogamers: We have played the Coral Tombs level in local co-op mode. It was really fun but a little bit easy. Is there any intensity system to make the level harder every time you revisit it? Will it change depending on character’s level, equipment, or number of partners?

Tim Schwalk: Coral tombs is the very first area the player explores, and as such it is certainly the easiest.  As we continue to balance the game, we are mindful of the difficulty curve, especially in multiplayer games.

Multiplayer games do change enemy difficulty and encounter sizes on the fly, as players join and leave games.

Revogamers: We have seen in many games how well the 3D effect works with low cameras. What’s your approach in a game with isometric point of view? Did you design levels with or without 3D in mind?

Tim Schwalk: We feel that the isometric camera is perfect for showing off the breathtaking 3D visuals of our world.  We intentionally built an incredible amount of depth into each of our environments in order to best show off the system’s 3D effect.

Entrevista Heroes of RuinRevogamers: Early on, you announced voice chat, online auctions and further SpotPass content. Is it still on track? Are you facing any barriers to implement those functionalities?

Tim Schwalk: It’s always challenging pushing the envelope, but we’re really excited about what we’ve been able to accomplish for Heroes of Ruin.  Voice chat is on track, as are daily challenges that add additional quest content every day for at least a year!  We’ve never had an online auction house in the plans, but it sounds like you’re referring to our Trader’s Network Street Pass feature, which is a lot of fun!

Revogamers: The last one. What about Japan, What do you thing about bringing your game to Japan to take advantage of their love for local multiplayer mode as in Monster Hunter?

Tim Schwalk: As a developer, I would love to expose our game to as many people as possible.  However, since we don’t influence which markets receive the game, we just work hard to make it the best it can be.  Heroes of Ruin really is a great deal of fun, and I can’t wait for everyone to play it!

Revogamers: Thank you very much and keep up the good work. We really appreciate it here at Revogamers.
